Let's Build a world where Every Girls will be Educated
About Us
Civic Independence Development (CID-Nepal) is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization registered in Kathmandu’s chief administrative office in 2018. We aim to enable equal education opportunities for girls having only 4.5% of its budget for administrative costs. After getting approval from the Social Welfare Council of Nepal, the organization operates its stay-in-school program in the marginalized area of Sundar Haraicha Municipality, Morang district, Nepal after receiving approval from the Social Welfare Council. Due to poverty, a certain percentage of girls do not continue school as they have to support their parents for extra income. Because of this situation, it is likely that the girls will be headed towards a child/early marriage between 14-17 ages.
My 100 Percent(https://my100percent.org/) provides financial and technical assistance to implement several programs. We do adopt zero percent tolerance for misuse of funding.

What we do
CID-Nepal provides educational scholarships for the 100-130 girls who attend community schools having a partnership with the Canadian NGO “My 100 percent”. The money raised for the school girls, cover for both educational materials and hygiene kits. We also encourage the girls to continue school by providing bicycles if they have to walk more than 20 minutes, take extra clases. Bicycle sharing program is the 2nd popular program. We also assist our sponsor girls with their health care. In case of illnesses, or if any of our sponsored girl needs a medical treatment that they cannot effort we make sure that they obtain it. We do organize awareness program to our sponsor girls and their family, neigbbors. We recently conducted two awareness campagins entile of health outcome of misuse of alcohol and Gender based violence.
Our Main Areas Of Focus
Scholarships
We aim to minimize the school drop-out rate and encourage girls to continue school until the completion of the final exam of high school in the project area. If the students secure more than 60% they further can join the University and who achieve lower marks we encourage/support vocational training
Medical Help and Prevention
We provide health coverage to our sponsor girls at govt. or, Purbanchal University Teaching Hospital. If the case is referred, we could consult either BPIKHS, Dharan, NOBEL, Koshi Hospital, or Birat Medical Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar.
We also encourage parents to purchase medical family insurance of government health insurence.
Cycle Sharing Program
We started cycle sharing program in 2018 as a pilot program. Benefisary were pleased to use it and their acadmic performance improved and we distributed more 180 bicyle in 2021. We did interviewd girls, did field visit and finalized list of the girls focusing, distance of girls residence, econmic condition of the girls, school attendence, etc. Now we are offering 60 bicyle yearly. OUR STORY
Civic Independence Development (CID-Nepal) is an NGO whose goal is to give an equal opportunity to girls to access school. The organization operates its several programs in the Morang district, in a marginalized area of Nepal. Due to poverty, girls do discontinue school as they have to support their parents for extra income. They will most likely minimize child/early marriage if we provide scholarships, hygiene kits, an appropriate environment to study, and medical assistance. CID- Nepal tries their best to assist them for a brighter future.

It is very much encouraging to see girls progress in their study, their goal setting, confidient level compared to before we enrolled them in the program.
